HTBLuVA Salzburg

The expansion of Austria's second largest school makes the building visible in the street view for the first time. The overhanging additional storey creates an exciting, spatially designed public space which works as a link between school and city. Further additions and conversions provide additional school space and give the school a contemporary feeling. An exciting color and lighting scheme, a number of areas for open learning and new teaching methods and differentiated designed outdoor spaces provide innovative learning experiences. Photovoltaic panels which generate electricity, controlled classroom ventilation and a thermally optimized facade complement the extensive renovation. Art works by Stephen Mathewson, Fritz Panzer and Sonia Leimer increase the identification with the school. competition 1st prize realization, 2007 - 2012
