Ciop-Ciop is a culinary studio and cook-to-yourself restaurant in Vilnius, Lithuania. The establishment is named after an expression chop-chop, giving a clue for fast, tasty and painless food preparation experience. Studio is located in soviet era factory district, now mainly inhabited by designers, architects, artists and hipsters. The whole block, where the studio is located, is dominated by grey concrete and glass buildings without any green space. So we introduced a green grass room as a contrast, but also its artificiality is not out of the context with the surrounding area. Ciop-Ciop is divided into two spaces: one for chopping the food, and one for consuming the results. And there is a small toilet too, if kitchen experiments don't go too well with a stomach. The lamps are cozily placed in pots. In the dining room, one can sit on the whole menu of different chairs and place one's bare feet on artificial green grass carpet. Food preparation table in the cooking room has a lot of knife-shaped legs. So far no leg injuries occurred. The ceramic tile in the toilet was used from the cheapest and most unwanted stock. Here it looks hip! Cooking room: - concrete floor coated transparent epoxy The knife-shaped table was originally designed for this studio. coocking table - worktop surface made of brushed metal and sharp legs white painted metal (designed by Martynas Kazimierenas and Paulius Vitkauskas ) - aluminum pots are used for ceiling lamps (originally designed by Martynas Kazimierenas and Paulius Vitkauskas ) - walls and ceilings painted white Toilet: - walls and ceilings painted black, except front wall covered with parquet imitating tiles - concrete floor coated transparent epoxy Dining room and Kitchen: Concrete floor covered with artificial grass created to use in contemporary outdoor stadiums; all accesories, lighting and furniture selected in white (ikea) walls and ceilings painted white.
