26sqm extension & low energy solution

The floor area has been extended from 110sqm to 136sqm creating an added living space of 26sqm following the rear extension of 2 m all along the rear façade. All along the rear, a decking has been built to create a pleasant outside living space. The decking bypasses the house on the left side to join the front patio. An Out House has been added on this side. To optimise the natural lighting, on the entire rear elevation glazed Bifolding and French doors have been installed. Besides, skylights have been created in the office, dining-room and dressing-room to provide additional lighting. Bespoke shelves and wardrobes have been designed and built by our team for almost every room of the house. The project aims to bring as much comfort as possible to the family living here, in term of energy efficiency, use of space and outside layouts. In term of sustainability, it is an energy efficient building designed with latest technology like photovoltaic panel, air source heat pumps & heat recovery system (aims to extracts heat from exhaust air from kitchen and bathroom to heat the water). Underfloor heating system in the house is supported by air source heat pumps. Low energy lighting and glazing has been installed and thermal insulation has been added in roof, floor & walls. The sustainable measures used for the project have allowed our customer to save £5.3 / sqm per unit, resulting in a saving of 67% on the energy cost compared to the previous system.
