The immediate urban context is not a very favorable one: a typical post-communist urban sprawl with no clear urban rules guiding the development and with an architecture of rather low quality. Therefore even if the house is located on a corner plot we chose not to emphasize this but to withdraw the building from the adjacent streets as much as possible in order to minimize its presence as seen from along the street. The house is organized around generous terraces placed at each level which allow for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Withdrawing the building from the east and south sides of the site led to an atypical situation: there is no rear garden, only a front one. This also determined the orientation of the rooms within the house towards the exterior public space.
