M Project

Manta city is seaport on the Pacific Ocean coast located at northwest of Ecuador, seeking economic and social growth through its main income fishing and tourism. The project concept is based on the idea of evolution inspired in the theory ¨the origin of species¨ develop in Galapagos Islands parallel to manta. The M project should be an organic structure capable of accommodating the flows of people, integrating different programs and activities as well as incorporating change over time. Like jellyfish the project should transform and evolve according to social and economic progress of Manta city. This project is implanted on the Pacific coast near the Eloy Alfaro airport and military base as a place of development, the disposition of the jellyfishes towards the ocean pulling the city to opportunities on the outside. Is configured by three main buildings each one representing a different program’s, the communication between buildings gather the form of a tentacle that connect and interact the different activities and uses of each building. The three main programs are: Manta´s hotel, Manta´s Cultural museum and Manta Executive center. These buildings should be the new central point of growth and evolution of the city.
