A River, two margins, two different realities. The Coina river is one of the secondary rivers that flows into Tejo’s sea and thus has been an important part of the naval ecosystem that defines the urban Lisbon area. It has been a canvas for such different activities, some more nature driven : with a presence of agricultural areas, natural parks and riverside wheels. Other more directed with the logistic transportation and heavy industry. All of which survived thank to its water connections. Nowadays the reality has changed, water transportation, although still important is no longer the main means of movement which is done by road. Adding to the fact , the creation of new infrastructures: A new river connection with Lisbon for railway and freeway traffic, a local crossing from the tram alongside the main riverbanks, and the intention of a central road bridge that connects both margins The project defines itself has a non invasive process, a subtle intervention that identifies three ecosystems and focus on consolidation the potentiality of such ecosystem with local and contained proposals that allow the natural development of the local realities and at the same time allowing the dialog and the common-ground for all the dichotomies
