The project’s main feature is its large vegetable garden that runs along an irrigation ditch on the sunniest side of the outdoor area, defining its perimeter with patches of aromatic plants. The vegetable garden, far from being merely ornamental, has the dual purpose of giving the setting its all-round, multi-sensory appeal – by pleasing the nose as well as the eye – and at the same time providing the kitchen with fresh and locally grown ingredients. In the rest of the garden, thin wooden structures, reminiscent of Meccano construction sets, form a pergola for vines and roses. The restaurant is composed of two indoor rooms and two verandas – the smaller one shaded by tall bamboo sticks; the larger one overlooking the vegetable garden. As far as the interior design is concerned, a large larch wood shelving unit, designed to resemble vegetable crates, stands out in the first room; the lights are made of colourful cables attached to well pulleys and old wine jugs and the bar and wainscoting are made of zinc-coated iron.

L’Erba Brusca, o Rumex Acetosa, è una piantina perenne di colore rossastro che predilige le sponde dei torrenti, lungo i fossati, ma solo in ambienti ancora incontaminati. 

Elemento principale del progetto è un grande orto che si sviluppa lungo una roggia irrigua occupando la parte più soleggiata del giardino e delimitando gli spazi del dehor con le sue vasche di piante aromatiche. L’orto, tutt’altro che decorativo, ha il duplice scopo di offrire agli avventori la sensualità di un ambiente piacevole non solo alla vista, ma anche all’olfatto e al tatto, e di approvvigionare la cucina con materie prime a “metro zero”. Nella parte restante del giardino, sottili strutture in legno che ricordano il gioco del meccano, formano una pergola dove crescono vite e rose. Il ristorante si compone di due sale interne e di due verande, una più piccola ombreggiata da alti bambù e una più grande con vista sull'orto. All'interno: un grande scaffale in larice, che ricorda il disegno delle cassette per la verdura, caratterizza la sala più grande; le luci sono realizzate con cavi colorati tesi su carrucole da pozzo e vecchie damigiane recuperate; il bancone e la boiserie sono in ferro zincato.
