The Colors of Snow

The occasion of the 150th anniversary of the "Unità d'Italia" came at a very important moment for our nation , where the patriotic spirit felt by all citizens, was useful to overcome a very particular historical moment . The City of Rieti, who with his story also anticipates the birth of Rome , has always shown his love for the homeland, even for the events on their territories of the battles of the Risorgimento period. The Mount Terminillo with his district , became a symbol to celebrate this important occasion , both for his "stature" which dominates the province , both for its history as Mountain called " of Rome ." The performance celebrated the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy , coloring the space of the Mount Terminillo - 1870 meters above sea level -, where insists the cableway Terminillo inaugurated back in 1938. The City of Rieti has launched the initiative "The colors of snow". The study of performance art was Designed and sponsored by Studio Stefano Scarani Designer, inventor of the Performance of light. In the pictures you can see the cable car during the inspection. The Flag was made with 3 streams of light, created by 14 different lighting for a total of 48,000 watts. The implants were installed on the roof and were differentiated in the three colors of the Italian flag , making beams red, white and green. The great difficulty was to investigate , install , protect and manage the lighting, under the continuous storms of snow , with temperatures well below -15 ° . The lighting streams was developed down, until it was lost in the woods of beech trees , creating a fascinating and colorful , visible from dozens of miles away , from Rieti and from Rome . The Performance 'was officially activated from days 15 to March 27, 2011 , making it the most complex and important installation of Italy on the subject.
