TBC Bank

TBC Bank is one of the most important credit institutions in Georgia. A new headquarters in the university district of the capital Tbilisi was to give the company a new identity and symbolise its resilience for the future.

The final design is a newly conceived urban space combining office buildings, green spaces and urban infrastructure. At the centre is the u-shaped main building, which becomes a sculptural work of art through an innovative facade design. The entire building is covered by a curtain facade, 'wrapping' the entire structure.  

The metal facade consists of a structure of triangles whose size varies depending on their position. The overall composition reinforces the impression of a flowing fabric. The company logo breaks through the two-dimensional facade and penetrates three-dimensionally to the outside. Blue, fluorescent light is emblematic of the company and projects the company's future prospects.
The 12-storey building frames an open park that is intended for recreation and the nurturing of community. A variety of trees and a large fountain in the centre create a refreshing public space. Nature is also integrated directly into the project design. Large niches in the facade dramatically stage carefully selected trees.

Die gestrickte Fassade
Die TBC Bank zählt zu den bedeutendsten Kreditinstituten Georgiens. Ein neuer Hauptsitz im Universitätsviertel der Hauptstadt Tiflis sollte dem Unternehmen eine neue Identität verleihen und seine Standfestigkeit für die Zukunft symbolisieren.

Der finale Entwurf ist ein neu gedachter städtischer Raum an dem Bürogebäude, Grünflächen und urbane Infrastruktur vereint werden. Im Zentrum steht das u-förmige Hauptgebäude, das durch ein innovatives Fassadendesign zu einem skulpturalen Gesamtkunstwerk wird. Das gesamte Gebäude ist mit einer stoffähnlichen, gestrickten Fassade überzogen, die das gesamte Bauwerk “umhüllt". Die Metallfassade besteht aus einer Struktur von Dreiecken, deren Größe je nach Position variiert. 
Die Gesamtkomposition verstärkt den Eindruck eines fließenden Stoffes. Das Unternehmenslogo durchbricht die zweidimensionale Fassade und dringt dreidimensional nach außen. Blaues, fluoreszierendes Licht steht sinnbildlich für das Unternehmen und projiziert die Zukunftsfähigkeit des Unternehmens.

Das 12-stöckige Gebäude umrahmt einen offenen Park, der zur Erholung und Förderung der Gemeinschaft dient. Eine Vielzahl an Bäumen und ein großer Brunnen im Zentrum erzeugen einen erfrischenden öffentlichen Raum. Die Natur wird zudem direkt in den Entwurf integriert. Große Nischen in der Fassade setzen sorgfältig gewählte Bäume dramatisch in Szene.

Una facciata a maglia
TBC Bank è uno dei più importanti istituti di credito della Georgia. Una nuova sede nel quartiere universitario della capitale Tbilisi aveva l’obiettivo di dare alla società una nuova identità e proiettarla verso il futuro.

Il progetto proposto finale è uno spazio urbano unico che unisce edifici destinati agli uffici, con spazi verdi e luoghi ad uso pubblico. Al centro, la sede principale a forma di U, è un'opera d'arte che diventa scultura grazie al design a trama della facciata. L'intero edificio è coperto da una facciata a maglia simile ad un tessuto, “incarta” l’intera struttura. La facciata metallica consiste in una struttura di triangoli le cui dimensioni variano a seconda della loro posizione. 
La composizione complessiva rafforza l'impressione di un tessuto fluido e morbido. Il logo dell'azienda fuoriesce dalla facciata bidimensionale e si apre tridimensionalmente all'esterno. La luce blu fluorescente è il colore aziendale e rappresenta l’attenzione verso il futuro.

L'edificio di 12 piani, al centro racchiude un parco aperto destinato allo svago e al tempo libero della comunità. Una varietà di alberi e una grande fontana al centro garantiscono uno spazio pubblico rinfrescante. La natura è integrata direttamente nel design del progetto, le grandi nicchie nella facciata lasciano a vista una varietà di alberi accuratamente selezionati.
