Ronchetto Redevelopment

Redevelopment of the Ronchetto sul Naviglio. The group project. The brief called for the redevelopment of the are of Ronchetto in Milano. Located in the Parco Sud, in between two major canals. The concept was born from a very detailed analysis of the current and former elements of the site, from the researches in the urban fabric and the agricultural landscape. The data concerning site density, building types, block typologies paired up with information concerning former and current elements of the surrounding like allotment gardens, urban parks, leftover and agricultural land, was the basis for the area masterplan. The concept was derived from the study of the history of the area with a special focus on the former agricultural grids. Taking into account the need for well organized open spaces, introduction of new public transportation links, incorporation of the road system (main two lane road going through the site) as well as a new residential development, the new masterplan was developed.
