The last project of my BA. The brief called for a design for an embassy of Northern Ireland in Birmingham. The site was located in the hear of the historical Jewellery Quarter. The site was covered by the Heritage Protection guide which created some limitations to the proposed designs. The idea of creating an embassy for the Northern Ireland was accompanied by the problematic political, religious and histrorical matters. The concept evolved from the idea of two parts of the building leaning away from each other symbolizing the need to connect with the United Kingdom, while the other by its lasting need of separation. The wall in front was a portrayal of the second façade, of the idea that what is visible on the outside is not always what lies in the heart.
