Architectural Avant-Garde?

Over the past century architecture has not really changed in style and only slightly in depiction. Renderings have gone from measured hand drawings to a photo realistic attempt depicting a space and its interaction with light as accurately as possible. The problem is that there are only a few that do this successfully. The result with the rest are usually a mesh of real and unrealistic college of people, light, things, and their architectural project. This project was the first experimental attempt to break the rules of accurately depicting a section. It is the Church of Light by Tadao Ando at 1/8" scale. It meshes the artistic abstract with the redundant constructional section. This creates an artistically abstract piece to evoke an emotional response and maintain an artistic concept to be incorporated into presentation. The medium I used was Acrylic paint and black and white charcoal to shade the areas around where the actual cut takes place. As I stated earlier, this was my very first piece exploring this genre of renders. We shall see what developments will unfold as I produce more examples.
