Spazio colazioni - Breakfast space | Antonio Aurigemma

Il progetto denominato “Spazio colazioni” è stato realizzato nel 2012 per un affittacamere che si appoggiava al vicino ristorante. La proprietà ha acquistato una vecchia tabaccheria confinante con la propria struttura extralberghiera e mi ha incaricato di studiare le soluzioni per poterla adibire a spazio per le colazioni, ma anche a salottino per il relax dei clienti.

Il progetto inizialmente prevedeva, come si può vedere dalle planimetrie iniziali, uno spazio in cui oltre a pochi tavoli per servire la colazione erano presenti un angolo salottino e un piccolo bar, il tutto collegato all’affittacamere attraverso un’apertura sul muro esistente e la riduzione dell’ultima camera per creare il passaggio. Il piano soppalcato era destinato ad un’area tecnico – amministrativa a servizio della proprietà o di chi richiedesse un piccolo spazio riunioni.

La struttura extralberghiera, Locanda delle Corse, si trova nelle immediate prossimità dell’Ippodromo de Le Capannelle, da cui l’ambientazione dedicata ai cavalli.

Durante la realizzazione dello spazio si è cercato di utilizzare quanto più possibile elementi recuperati nel vecchio borgo in cui la struttura si inserisce, come le ringhiere al piano soppalcato e i vecchi tavoloni in legno che fanno da piano di appoggio del bar e dell’elemento al centro della sala.

Il pavimento presentava diversi strati sovrapposti, e abbiamo levato circa 40 cm di materiale per arrivare alla quota iniziale. In buona parte del pavimento siamo riusciti a lasciare le mattonelle originali, con una semplice opera di pulizia con acqua e acido, e nel resto abbiamo utilizzato una resina autolivellante, incassando alcune vecchie mattonelle.

I materiali utilizzati sono principalmente di recupero: ferro (le ringhiere), vecchie mattonelle, tavolati di legno di provenienza del borgo, mobili.

Sul soppalco, non accessibile al pubblico, si trova lo spazio amministrativo e tecnico della gestione dell’affittacamere, un piccolo spazio riunioni e il bagno privato del personale.

Dietro alla postazione bar con la macchina del caffè è stato realizzato un piccolo ambiente con bagno e lettino per il riposo notturno degli addetti.

The project called "Breakfast space" was made in 2012 for a guesthouse who’s clients had breakfast at the nearby restaurant. The opportunity was that the property could buy an old tobacconist bordering with its guesthouse and asked me to study the solutions to use it for breakfast, but also for as a relaxing room for the guests.

The project initially provided, as you can see in the initial drawings, a space in which besides few tables serving breakfast, there was a sitting area and a small bar, all connected to the existing guesthouse through an opening on an existing wall to create the passage. The mezzanine floor was intended for a technical-administrative area at the service of property or for those who required a small meeting space.

The guesthouse, called Locanda delle Corse, is located in the immediate proximity of the Hippodrome of Le Capannelle in Rome, and all design and fornitures are dedicated to horses.

During realization of the space, we recovered and restored as many elements as possible from the old village where the guesthouse stays, as the balcony railings on the mezzanine floor and the old wooden tables for the bar counter and the table for cakes in the center of the room.

The floor had several overlapping layers, and we took away about 40 cm of material to get to the initial quote. In most part of the floor we could leave the original tiles just cleaning them with water and acid, and in the rest part we used a self-leveling resin, inserting some old tiles around the spiral staircase.

The materials used are mainly recovered: iron (railings), old tiles, wooden boards from the village, furniture from old rooms.

On the mezzanine, which is not accessible to the public, there’s the administrative and technical space for the management of the guest rooms, a meeting table and the private bathroom for the staff.

Behind the bar with the coffee machine a small room with bathroom and a little bed for the staff was created.
