Eng This site is 2-minutes walk from the station in Yokosuka city. It faces the approach to the temple, which is in a city block lined with mid-to-high-rise building in front of the station. Now this street come to a dead-end in front of the site since the development construction is progressing around this site. The park will be established on the road side in the near future and the environment would have improved significantly and the new approach would have re-emerged with the bustle. In the site characteristics that are expected such changes, in the planning of this time, we felt need for the space which can be changed applications flexible against mid permanence such as concrete. (We adopted the RC as a structure for fire prevention district.) As a dwelling, as a SOHO and as a tenant, to meet variety demands for this area is our answer to be present without being left behind against the landscape that continues to change variety. We adopted RC as the minimum frame for structure and adopted wood for secondary elements like floor and wall. Then the wall is provided with a slit of a two-stage, it has become a mechanism that can be reconstructed easily. Space operation, like integrating vertically floors, changing ceiling height and so on, is available by selecting them freely. In addition, we set firewall in the middle of the building from the reasons for law. So we can rebuilt and separate the building easily in the future by subdividing it into two sections. As a result it leaves a lot of choices for long-term operation. It would be a part of the continuous landscape by changing the space without limiting the application. Then it would be a large possibility of 30 years from 20 years later as it respond to the diverse lifestyles of today and the surrounding environment that change rapidly. We hope that it does not depend on the trend of the times while responding to economic needs. And moreover we hope it continues to exist as "remains" of the modern so to speak.
