The gallery aims to regenerate a historical cultural hub of London, now overshadowed by modern galleries further East along the river. The gallery explores Frink's theme 'Animus', or two parts of a whole, taking form in a tower which acts as a beacon and a monument to the artist, whilst the long, armature building provides cultural space and acts as an instrument. As a monument, the tower is constructed of stone, emanating solidity, housing the permanent works of the artist. The armature is constructed of timber, creating a flexible space that can be modified to the needs of each different visiting artist.
