The act of movement and recurring motion is customary to us as humans. We wanted to create a stool which satisfied our habitual actions while still being comfortably seated and affording one the opportunity to catch up on some light reading. We approached the design with a spinning top in mind and used it’s fundamental elements to create a tapered drum-like stool with a domed insert in the cushioning cork base which allows the stool to rotate on it’s axis. By placing a cavity in the side wall, further value was added creating a nifty compartment for magazines. these combined elements make the ‘orbit’ stool a captivating place to sit.
