A+T House Daily chromotherapy The apartment is inside a residential two/ family home that was built at the start of the seventies. The single storey building is made up of a structure with load bearing dividers in full brick that limit the central articulation of the home by creating the primary distribution area. The restructuring is not aimed at completely changing it, but more at articulating and redistributing the existing areas with pratical changes and the result is a completely new redefinition of the living areas. Enrico e Arianna requested two bathroom (one of witch shoul be a private bath with access from the master bedroom) a spacious kitchen and a laundry room with a door to the back terrace (we are at a raised ground floor), and all without sacrificing any of the three existing bedrooms. The design of the new rooms was aimed at fluidity and the recuperation of unused space. It began by eliminating the entrance hall to create a large living area, a large room that is open and welcomes you into the living space inside the home as soon as you walk throught the front door. By reducing one of the double bedrooms into a single bedroom, the design made room for a laundry room and pantry in front of the dining room and next to the kitchen, witch was made larger than before. By enlarging the existing large bathroom, the design made room for the two bathrooms that had been requested. The storage area was transformed into a closet that is accessible from the master bedroom while the large main distribution area has no separation between the day and night areas making it a place or the transitioning of life at the same time (still work in progress). A cool candour redesigns all of the areas including the floor in macro white stoneware tiles with brilliant and shiny reflections that cover the entire living area like a silent and inviting white backdrop for creating, time after time, iconic works, characterized by strict geometry highlighted by colors and rhythms always unique and unexpected. So the living room become tinged with warm and soft tones such as wengé and orange which define the coverings of the seats, and the large wall bookcase, marked by rhythmic dividing walls hosting a series of recessed orientable LED lights that underline, with their light beams, the transit space, memory of the original entrance present in the situation before the works. The bookcase, whose shelves move dynamic on splitted and harmonic levels, is characterized by the stereometric volumes orange, slightly projecting, that stand out, interchangeable and removable from the shelves, creating a bright and joyous randomness of episodes. The dining room, which can be reached through the central access room that houses a wall recessed wardrobe marked by vertical wengé handles, as black keys of a piano keyboard, is a light bath. Open on two sides with two large French windows, the perimeter is marked by a pair of upper shelves, which also carries the diffused lighting system, and from which born, getting down, all the furnishings. In the bright rigor of the composition stand out the colored bottle holder holes that introduce chromatically, with the chairs of the dining table, the kitchen. The block of the cellar also hides the boxes system of the two side sliding doors (one communicating with the entrance, the other with the laundry room) that, opened, disappear completely in the furniture, closed, form a materic continuum that defines univocally the wall and defines, with the rest of the composition, the space around the dinner table. All the furniture system is slightly rotated compared to the perimeter walls in order to create spatial tension and encourage greater use of the large shelf that, overlooking on the kitchen through the serving hatch, becomes a possible place for breakfasts, snacks and drinks. Distributed by the candid and minimal central closet that will become an ulterior living space at the end of the furnishings, open, with the original doors that have been restored and painted white, the three bedrooms and the main bathroom. If the bedrooms have flooring in bleached white oak, macro white tiles drive us in to the bathroom where, climbing the walls, they cover the whole walls, playing with a yellowish variant in colour which highlights the niche in which it finds its housing, as in a natural alcove, the bathtub. Suspended on a shiny green counter that comes out of the forniture in the niche of the same colour, we find the counter top sink, a soft and welcoming ceramic basin that reflects in the enormous mirror printed with a design by the architect that occupies the entire wall. Without any natural lighting, it offers the possibility to experience three different and exciting vibrations. That is possible thanks to the blue led lights over the bathtub, the lighting hidden in the perimeter of the false ceiling in plaster board and detached, as an island, from the walls on each side and the white spot leds light above the mirrored wall. They can be adjusted with three different configurations in order to create exciting atmospheres, adaptable to many moments of their welfare and care of the body. The private bathroom wich is decorated in hues of purple is connected to the master bedroom where the wood flooring reaches into the interiors. A mosaic made from a special mixture that was adjusted especially to match the purple and white tiles on the walls, highiligts the shower enclosure with a large white multifuncional shower system. The shiny purple furnishings were custom designed and they add a light and ironic touch as they go into the wall coverings wich they seem to come out of. The experience gained in the field of design from collaborations with some of the most prestigious architecture and interior design firms in Florence is reflected in the design of this apartment wich has a very close relationship between the interiors and furnishing "objects", economic construction and management and the optimisation of each single production and installation process in a sort of pragmatic post- rationalism that never forgets the symbolic and expressive value of architecture. Work of extreme precision and formal purity, bright sign of modernity facing the future, based on a solid past. A future born of the present that is aware of the environment and the wellbeing of the user with passive acoustic nd thermal insulation and geothermal and photovoltaic system for producing energy. A+T house is the effective testimony of this personal design philosophy that blends aesthetic excellence with function, environmental sustainability and economic control.
