Segev Express | Yaron Tal

The new Segev Express restaurant located not far from Tel Aviv is another restaurant conducted by the famous chef Segev Moshe. The new restaurant is the little sister of Segev Express in Tel Aviv that opened on 2007. The design concept combines urban landscape- classical buildings of one or two floors next to a romantic avenue, a kiosk, romantic stores, outside and inside sitting areas- all combined together with no clear borders and create a universe of one consisting of several contrasting layers. Outside/inside, modern/antique, rough/slick, old/ new, trees, benches, garden beds and a fountain. Period and style are blurred and unclear. The design tends to romantic style along with textures and materials of the seventies with eclectic breaks towards urban design- iron & concrete combined with wood. The total design conveys a pastoral atmosphere, not really clear and special of a 'new world' created inside while you enter. The central space is designed as an avenue with different buildings fronts. The kitchen is an open one, located in the main focus point at the end of the avenue- all the preparing and cooking action is reviled as a live show. In designing we put ourselves a goal to create various sitting areas, so there are about 10 different ones one next to the other. The entrance is throw a wooden gazebo that hides all that is inside, like a lobby of neutral pause point and welcome by the host. A quiet moment before the surprising design waiting for the guest, the nice atmosphere and the great food served.
