Dwelling in Ibiza [ENG]
This house in Ibiza responds to an archaic logic that has been maintained throughout time in an exemplary way.
The deep tradition of these "spontaneous" constructions, the oldest on the Mediterranean, has seduced architects and artists that have delved into its history over the years.
Their strong presence required us to think carefully about how to intervene on the island.
A few Ibizan invariables were considered in our project:
- Construction of a double cavity wall, without insulation. Safe materials.
- South-facing main façade
- White lime mortar cubic volumes and terra cotta floors.
- Practical disappearance of windows on exterior faces.
The different uses are organized into independent modules, connected by a porch facing two directions.
