[ENG] - This small municipal low-rental housing project provided an opportunity for the city housing council (OPHLM) to attempt a construction project in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Success on all grounds. Great care was taken with the distribution of space in the apartments, and the design of common areas pleased the renters.

The project benefits from its location between two different zoning areas. Its specificity lies essentially in the hanging garden on the first floor which actually constitutes the ground-floor level of the two buildings facing each other. The entrance lobbies open onto the gardens, far from the noise of the street, replacing the traditional inner courtyard. The other specificity is the layout of the apartments, all of which have good, and well protected, views.

[FR] - Cette petite opération de logements fut l’occasion pour l’OPHLM municipal de tenter une opération en milieu résidentiel. Tentative réussie. Le soin particulier apporté dans la distribution des appartements et dans la conception des parties communes a séduit les locataires.

Le projet d’architecture implanté à la rencontre de deux angulaires du plan d’aménagement en a tiré parti. La spécificité du projet repose essentiellement sur la création d’un jardin suspendu au premier étage qui constitue en réalité le rez-de-jardin des deux petits immeubles en face-à-face. Les halls d’entrée s’ouvrent sur ces jardins dégagés des nuisances de la rue et remplaçant une cour intérieure traditionnelle. L’autre spécificité est la distribution des appartements, qui tous profitent d’angles de vue dégagés et spécifiques.
