This remote retreat was designed by young Tbilisi-based duo Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia. Representing the new generation of young Georgian designers, the sleek hotel comprises a geometric structure with balconies and a sun terrace fashioned from steel, glass and timber, mimicking the local woodlands. Designed to be as discreet as possible, the lodgings blend into the surrounding landscape while the floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby lounge and rooms, keeps the interior and exterior visually linked.

Also by the duo, the interior features a minimalist design that reflects the country’s Asian and European heritage. Raw wood floors interspersed with indigenous rugs and furnishings by Belgian brand Flamant and American outfit Restoration Hardware add a touch of rustic chic to the lobby lounge, which comprises a series of intimate sitting areas, cleverly divided by rustic wooden bookshelves.

Cozy fireplaces and cocooning couches abound, while original vintage advertisement and movie posters from Georgia’s Soviet Union times nod to the country’s history. The rooms meanwhile are decked out in a palette of mushroom and taupe with the occasional splash of color, which adds warmth and interest to an otherwise chic and minimal space.
