house tf, east of luxemburg | Michelle Friederici

The house „maison tf“ is situated in a small village in the east of Luxembourg. Its location is in a heavy inclined real estate with more than one level difference between the front entrance and the private backside. That’s why the architect planed a splitlevel house. This was to admit and work with this natural form and also to be able being on the same level with the backside/gardenside. The architecture of the house shows a closed side to the road with minimal openings and a lighted open side on the backyard to the garden. Internally, light coloured natural finishes and operable glazed sliders that open out to a flush finished timber deck and small pool. Along with the steel, the most used materials are wood, steell and glass. The layout and façade treatment is orientated to respond to basic low-energy house by means of a bioclimatic design in cooperation with automated processes such as adjustment of levels of natural ventilation, which regulates air quality and comfortable temperature inside.
