This project is a work in progress. I collaborated with 4 other architects and students on this project in 2011under the International Peace and Cooperation Centre. Our team proposed a masterplan based on research done in the surrounding area. The region and site, which lies on the border of the separation wall is extremely complicated, politically. Often it is difficult for Palestinians to gain rights and permits to build. Positively, the Al Adesseh area that we were designing for has recently been zoned residential instead of the green zone that it had existed as for decades. The idea of the project was to realize specific assets already belonging to the site and to propose a mixed use residential neighbourhood with an urban life for the Palestinian people who are severely lacking housing in this region. If it gets built it could be the first housing project built for Palestinians since 1967.
