C& Partners Inc. has been retained to design a new ecologically sensitive home north of Toronto on a rural pastoral site. Our client has requested the incorporation of several elements including a south facing rammed earth wall, geothermal heating, rainwater collection and other sustainable energy solutions. Programmatically, the functional spaces in the house will revolve around an interior courtyard that quietly reveals the seasonal changes in the environment. Using natural light and locally sourced materials the house will reframe views of the landscape and promote moments of meditation and reflection for the occupants. We will post more information and early design sketches as the project progresses.
