In late 2005, Lawrence Cheung was commissioned by a family friend to design a new master bathroom for him and his wife. Although the existing house is neither classical nor modern, Lawrence convinced his client to take the latter approach, combining a free-flowing Minimalist space within the existing perimeter walls. The spaces required by the program are articulated with a rich material palette comprised of dark-stained rift white oak cabinets, closet pantries, white-painted ceilings and walls, clear mosaic glass tiles, and a continuous honed Fountainbleu limestone floor.
