This is the design for a very small apartment (55 sqm) in central Rome. The client wanted to change the lay outing of the space and create an open plan kitchen/dining that could be somehow linked to the living room but not completely visible. I considered the kitchen to be the “heart” of the house, a monolithic sculptural central piece around which all the other areas could find their own separate space without actually getting enclosed in a standard "room". The living areas flow naturally one into the other without doors or walls. A guest toilet by the kitchen becomes a feature too with a curved wall that enhances the fluidity of the space.
