A comprehensive project deals with revitalization of an urban centre of Raub Town Pahang, with about 200 acres area. Raub Town is a potential important Transit Town form Klang Valley to the East Coast. Its location near the highland tourism of Fraser’s Hill, surrounded by green forest and natural resources could lead its development to an eco and agro tourism town. However the choice to the concept of the development will be determined through understanding on the urban design rationales. The task of the is to propose a redevelopment scheme or schemes i.e. urban design on the given area. The early stages of the project will emphasize on the diagnostic and feasibility studies towards understanding the rules of thumb of urban design. The project will focus on the multi-disciplinary involvement of interest groups as the basic decision in the urban design process and later will culminate into development programmes and concepts. The development programmes and concept will be qualitatively tested of their feasibility through physical and spatial layout. Students need to detail their design on the key places for the public, developing a spatial structure with feasibility uses and some arrangement in three dimensions with this in mind. The final product of the project will comprise of a complete set of detailed urban design layouts and rationales for the development and a report on the development feasibility. The project is planned to unite the theoretical and the practical aspects of urban design. The early studies on the various related theories, academic tours and studies on foreign and local projects allow students to systematically skills and language of the discipline
