Veranda House KL is a floating box that hovers above the site and projects out over the water. The box has a variety of modes generated by modifying the screening layers and by compacting the bedroom elements to free up a larger entertainment space. The concept aims to minimise the built space whilst maximising the usable area for any one or series of functions. Veranda House KL is a sustainable house that produce their own electricity and water. Solar energy powers the fans, lights, household appliances, pumps and heats the water. Rain and dew produce enough water for a family of four. Recycled water irrigates the surrounding landscape and flushes toilets, and surplus electricity is used to drive the electric buggies.
