The four storey terraced house in a old town, has been reformed to be adapted to the changes of the family who live there. The installation of an elevator that connects all four levels allows changing programmatic use of the second and third floors, to improve the quality of its spaces, and to enjoy the space, which has the best views and which makes best use of it’s space byusing a sloping roof. In this way, the unused roof terrace is improved, becoming the main living space of the house. The main bedroom is situated on the second floor, where previously there was the living room, the dining room and the kitchen. On the third floor, with it’s large floor space, and where there were the bedrooms and the roof terrace, now we have the living room, dining room and the kitchen, all more spacious and better equipped, incorporating all services in in-built furniture in contact with the partition walls which frees up space on the glazed facade. This in-built furniture is designed to provide the necessary support in each area to develop the different activities. Including the kitchen, but hidden away from the living room. It has a desk with closed shelves, the fireplace and entering inside we can find the bathroom. All the volumetric composition is designed to include the need to store, the lighting and tables for different uses. The stairs and the elevator are also in contact with the partition walls, completing the idea to accumulate there all the services, releasing an open space, under the new wooden roof and with the best views of the rooftops of the old town. La vivienda se sitúa entre medianeras en el casco antiguo de Solsona y va variando su superficie en cada planta. La actuación consiste en la instalación de un ascensor que comunica los cuatro niveles, favoreciendo que se inviertan los usos programáticos de las plantas segunda y tercera. Mejorar la calidad de sus espacios y permitir que los usuarios, que con el tiempo han redefinido la unidad familiar, disfruten del espacio de la antigua azotea que tiene las mejores vistas y está mejor calificado por la inclinación de la cubierta. En la planta segunda, dónde antes habían los usos vinculados al estar, ahora hay una habitación y un vestidor que, mediante una puerta corredera estratégicamente colocada en la fachada, permite entender y percibir el conjunto como un espacio único. Pero a su vez también permite sectorizarlos, para que eventualmente el vestidor se pueda convertir en una segunda habitación. En la planta tercera, de superficie mayor y dónde antes habían las habitaciones y la azotea, se ubica la sala de estar, el comedor y la cocina. Resolvemos la distribución incorporando todos los servicios en un mueble que se apoya en las medianeras y que libera el máximo de espacio en la fachada acristalada. Este mueble ofrece en cada ámbito el soporte necesario para desarrollar distintas actividades, incorpora la chimenea, el aseo y mantiene escondida una parte de la cocina. La composición volumétrica del mueble responde al objetivo de ofrecer el soporte necesario a las distintas actividades domésticas. Los volúmenes tiene profundidades adaptadas a los objetos que contiene, generamos un escritorio, una mesa próxima a la cocina e incluso incorporamos la iluminación.
