In this home the merging of all the three dimensions to create a cocoon is both organic and futuristic in many ways...The no edges’ look factors in the infinite nature of the universe, much like a “WOMB” that lets you grow within it, thus providing a frame for total unison of mind, body and soul.Entire design process evolved- based on form finding; the main source of interest being: line-to-curved surface and curved surface-to-line generation. Sometimes lines mesh together into surfaces; sometimes surfaces are torn and stretched into linear elements. Basically Design for a couple, it is conceived as a suite with a guest bedroom. So the entire four-and-a-half bedroom has been opened out- keeping the guest bedroom as a single enclosed space in the apartment. The transparency between and fluidity of the spaces, the intermingling and overlapping without distinct boundaries sets this home apart. The flexibility of enclosing the open spaces, without disturbing the homogeneity and seamlessness is yet another achievement.Light is another fascinating tool used optimally in this home.In this project we used the analogue techniques to study surfaces that can both contain expansive open spaces for communication and contractive closed spaces for concentration. There are the normal whites, which are essential and effective for working; There are several yellows for infusing warmth into the white spaces, there is a color therapy lamp, which creates different moods for the space- relaxed, work, energy, love, meditation – are some of the modes that can be switched on as desired. The openness, timelessness, seamlessness of the home gives it an almost meditative aura. The clutter -free space seen and felt – lends a sense of calm and peace to the mind – and offers a welcome break from the chaotic and claustrophobic environment that one needs to work, live, travel in.
