Le Futur Palais de Justice de Paris (EN)
EN - Forty years after the opening of the Centre Pompidou, Paris sees the return of Renzo Piano, winner of the competition to design the new Law Courts which will be completed in 2017.
The new building is to be constructed in the Batignolles quarter: the 160 metres high court building designed by the Italian archistar will consist of a steel and glass stepped block structure with a tree lined terrace and 90 rooms for the hearings covering 66,000 square metres.
An 'open city' architecture capable of accommodating a daily affluence of around 8,000 people. The cost of the work will amount to about 575 million euros and work is expected to start this month.
The future landmark for the Paris skyline is going to include the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Paris, the Police Court and the Court of the district judges.
Progetto per la nuova sede del Palazzo di Giustizia di Parigi.
