ASVS Design Lab is a dynamic and young team of architects and designers lead by Vítor Leal Barros graduated in Oporto School of Architecture. Since 2005, ASVS has developed several projects in Portugal and abroad, covering Urban Planning, Architecture, Interior, Product and Graphic Design. In 2010 ASVS became a member of LB Group, composed by three other brands: ‘LBS Mobiliário’ (furniture and design), ‘Key Solutions’ (contract) and ‘IMOLB’ (real estate investments). WORK ASVS Design Lab addresses a concept of studio whose activity goes further than the provision of architectural services, extending its scope to Design and Art, through the implementation of an art gallery in its headquarters. In parallel, ASVS develops a project of cultural dynamics integrated on the creative process of the studio. The project try to build a discussion platform that encourages the overlap of theories, concepts and ideas relating to contemporary issues of architecture and urban planning, design and arts. ASVS’s architectural highlights are: ‘The Divine Savior Church and Parish Center’ – Oporto PT (ongoing project); ‘Diplomat Hotel’, Oporto - PT (under construction); ‘Bento de Freitas Hotel’, Vila do Conde - PT (under construction); ‘Classic King Room Unit 13 Sofitel’, Dubai - EAU (Study) and ‘LBS Mobiliário’ stores, Guimarães and Póvoa de Varzim - PT (built). DESIGN STATEMENT ASVS understands architecture as a discipline that generates circumstances and experiences which must conform to valid cultural and environmental values. ASVS is interested and appreciates the methods of appropriation and colonization of its projects, in search for a humanized architecture closest to the people and their needs. ASVS develops its projects concerning to the specific conditions of each place and program. We believe in spatial clarity, versatility and constructive truth, as principles to reach an architectural identity in a globalized world. ASVS is composed by architects and designers that embrace each project with passion. Our team loves to take new challenges providing higher design solutions with creativity, responsibility and professionalism. Desde 2005, a ASVS desenvolve projectos de maior ou menor complexidade em Portugal e no exterior, desde o Planeamento Urbanístico à Arquitectura Cívil. O seu portfólio abrange ainda trabalhos realizados nas áreas do design de interiores, design de produto e design gráfico. Em 2010, torna-se membro do LB Group, composto por outras três marcas portuguesas: A ‘LBS Mobiliário’ (mobiliário e decoração); a ‘Key Solutions’ (contract) e a ‘Imolb’ (imobiliária). A ASVS Design Lab aborda um conceito de atelier cuja actividade estende-se para além da oferta de serviços de Arquitectura. Alarga o seu campo de acção ao design e à arte, através da implementação de uma galeria de arte nas suas instalações. Paralelamente à actividade primordial, a ASVS desenvolve um projecto de dinamização cultural integrado no processo criativo do atelier e da galeria de arte. Surge como resposta à necessidade de estabelecer uma plataforma de debate que incentive a discussão de teorias, conceitos e ideias relativos às questões contemporâneas da arquitectura e urbanismo, do design e das artes plásticas.
