Cornish Buildings Group Awards 2008 A ‘replacement’ private dwelling. Two thirds of the property was developed as the living area and the remainder devoted to boat storage. The property features a spiral staircase, round windows, a huge open-plan living area with glass skylights and a stunning view over the water. Extensive pre-application negotiations were held with the planning authority to allow contemporary architecture in this area of outstanding natural beauty. The design combines comfort with functionality. The exterior is clad in low maintenance untreated cedar and hosts two large iroko decked areas complete with cedar hot tub and sailcloth awning.
