This wooden house stands in a quiet residential district in Osaka, Japan.
The client wanted a house where many friends gather and can relax with pleasure.
About the everyday living, it was also important that family meets and talks each other anytime.
The big problem of this project was the permission space was considerably too small for five families.
Then, we tried to take off division wall inside as much as possible and let it be one continuous space.
It was difficult to find out the method of connecting an inside and the exterior openly, keeping privacy
from the neighborhood. We place the garden like a thin alley connected to the entrance and the dining room,
and enclosed the garden with meshfence and a large roof. In a mesh fence, We attached lots of natural stones
and various kinds of plants so as to become organic mesh fence (vertical garden) as time passes.
This inner garden has become an external space that blurs the boundary between exterior and interior.
