Anyone who watches from the window of the train arriving in Venice, between the little bridges, toward the lagoon, can not to realize about this “trees” planted in the water that separete the deep channels from those not waterways. As the trees, the “briccolas” bend strength of the tides, but complete their century-old service to the people who lives in this unique place in the world. The project wants to continue to talk these “trees”, no planted in the water, but arranged in the lawns, in the parks, along pathways to anyone who wants to stop and think. The project “the trees from the sea” starts from the idea to create an unique seat made with two different height “briccolas”. One element for the sitting, and the second element to support the back to take a relaxing and reposing position. The feature of the “briccola” that with the years and the tides keeps a rough and harsh skin will be maintained for the external part of the seat, while the internal part will be modeled and smoothed to answer to the comfort and grazing needs. The “briccolas” will have a diameter of 35-38 centimetres with the height of 40-45 centimetres for the seat and 140-155 centimetres for the backs. These will be joined by two steel pins to make them more stable and prevent it from tipping over, while the base will be on an iron plate of thickness 0.8 cm with different finish depending on the type of material it will be in contact (earth, stone, rubber).
