The project for the new enter annex of “Villa della Regina” puts itself as a prolungament of the own Villa and its gardens. A linear space that follows the pre-existing signs and shows up the characterizing elements of the villa and the entire park. There is the need to exalt the suggestive views of the garden, the Villa, the Turin’s profiles, the lines of vineyards and in the same time to minimize the rough of the technical existing volumes. The concept is to create an artificial horizon that follows the west profile of the Villa and wraps the technical installations. An “inhabited wall” assumes the role of director of the “Villa della regina”. In this way the wall becomes contain and container, a clear architectonic sign that separates the enter public space from private control rooms, a sign that separetes the Villa garden from Turin landscape. In the internal space is situated the ticket office, the wardrobe and the bar that is positioned toward the view of Turin; a confortable an relaxing space between outside an inside, between architecture and lanscape. In the second floor there will be the book shop and an open space for meetings and exhibition presentations. The rhythmic elements of the facade become connection with the outside, a severe order with heavy and light disposition that tries to retake the rythm and the harmony of the Villa’s geometries. The cover of the new enter annex of “Villa della Regina” becomes a “top facade” that wants to mark the clear existing signs of the park. The roof will become a garden and will be the new viewpoint of Turin.
