The building is situated in the western part of Beroun on a southern slope from which there is a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape. The building is designed as a spatial structure – grid – consisting of 24 cubes. Every cube represents a separate voluminous unit which is assigned a function according to the requirements. The individual rooms are identified through their positions and number of fields comprised in this imaginary spatial chessboard. This abstract structure provides organisation of operation of the family house. The square fields are outlined according to the requirements by fixed or sliding walls. These walls respect the basic structure and are inserted in a 3 x 3 m raster. The field do not differ from each other and their nature is only designed through their filling. Some of the cubes are interconnected between each other both in the horizontal direction and vertically which makes it possible to better observe and perceive the geometrical structure of the villa. The building is designed as an assembled steel skeleton with the fillings made of concrete and glass. This is actually a small panel building with a bearing module of 3 x 3 x 3 m. There is no main facade. There is no hierarchy all the parts are connected together with the same system. Corridors are eliminated in the entire building. The rooms are connected in various ways and thus they form the spatial richness of the building. This also provides the genuine flexibility of use and also in the future it brings a possibility of change according to the needs of the user. Both the architect and the client can move very freely in this spatial network. The result need not be so strict as presented in the case of our building. The architect can define the basic spatial network only – a macro-network – into which the architect in cooperation with the client will subsequently insert and create rooms and thus also various space areas.
