Architectural Solution In order to increase the form factor, and reduce heat gains of housing, housing is a compact volume, perfectly square. Similarly, has a courtyard, two-story attached to the south facade. Thus, in winter it is open all the shading of the south facade and the house is heated by direct sunlight. The central courtyard acts here as a large greenhouse that keeps the temperature inside the housing. In contrast, in summer, sunscreens closes all of the south facade (except for the top of the greenhouse), so that housing is not heated, and lit by indirect sunlight from the north, and the top of the Central Conservatory. 3. Eco-friendly materials 1. Foundations and structure. Double-leaf walls and insulation. The inner leaf is the load-bearing wall panels based lightweight concrete 15 cm. thick. The outer leaf is also built based on lightweight concrete panels of 7 cm. Inside there is a double sheet of hemp insulation layer of 6 cm. and a ventilated air space of 3 cm. The floor is made out of precast lightweight concrete. 2. Exterior finishes Trowelled screed of lime-cement mortar. Silicate paint. Panels Ipe wood battens of 20 mm. thick. 3. Interior finishes Paintings vegetables. Flooring ceramic tile based. Double doors plywood board, beech plywood, and treated with vegetable oils. 4. Cover Roof garden, with an average thickness of 30 cm. of land. 5. Others Polypropylene water pipes. Polyethylene drainage pipes. Energy-efficient appliances. Iroko wood carpentry treated with vegetable oils. Internal blinds Japanese cotton canvas. Shading Ipe hardwood, treated with vegetable oils. All woods used have a certificate of origin with selective logging and ecological treatment (FSC).
