Centro polifunzionale e parcheggio "Sarabon" | Maurizio Bradaschia

Il progetto si pone come espressione simbolica della condizione culturale contemporanea, e interpreta il contesto del centro di Lubiana ponendosi in rapporto dialettico con le preesistenze: un parco urbano progettato da Plecnick, il fiume Ljubljanica che lambisce l’area concorsuale e i grandi padiglioni ospedalieri retrostanti. Si tratta di un edificio che reinterpreta la doppia maglia morfologica del centro antico della città da un lato e della espansione novecentesca dall’altro; direttrici che qui hanno il loro punto di incontro. Una grande nuvola, un elemento organico apre il fronte, dialogando con il verde del parco; all’interno uno spazio espositivo introduce all’edificio adibito ad uffici, attività ricettive e parcheggi. Distributivamente l’edificio presenta un piano terra libero alla fruizione pubblica, adibito prevalentemente ad attività commerciali e ricettive; il corpo di fabbrica anteriore (alto 18,95 m) contenente la “nuvola” ha funzioni commerciali e direzionali, mentre il blocco posteriore (alto 15,50 m) costituisce il vero e proprio parcheggio insieme ai 3 livelli interrati ubicati sotto il sedime dell’intera fabbrica. The project is proposed as the symbolic expression of the contemporary cultural condition, and interprets the context of the center of Ljubljana in a dialectic relationship with the existing structures: an urban park designed by Plecnick, the River Ljubljanica which flows by the project site and the big hospital buildings behind it. A building was designed to re-interpret the double morphology of the historic center of the city on the one hand and of the twentieth century expansion on the other; directrixes which have their meeting point here. A big cloud, an organic element opens the front, balancing with the green of the park; in the interior a display space leads into the building used for offices, reception activities and the car parks. The building has a ground floor free for public use, used mainly for commercial and reception activities: the front body of the building (18.95m high), containing the “cloud”, has commercial and management functions, whilst the back block (15.50m high) makes up the car park proper, together with the 3 underground levels situated under the whole building.
