Dr.S House Design Concept
The composition of volumes and steps is the main theme of this house.
We place interior and exterior volumes three-dimensionally. Series of the volumes overlap each other and create several interior spaces separated loosely without having walls and doors between them. Utility zone is swelled from floor, a kids’ room is protruded from a wall, and a loft is dangled from a ceiling. Rests of the spaces are distributed to necessary functions following their special demands.
Then, we place lots of steps connecting the volumes. They are not only for circulations but also for furniture, such as benches and tables, and play lots for kids’.
The use of the spaces changes everyday in terms of functions. We expect that kids will discover their own environment in the spaces we prepared according to their age.
