italian Pasta project play with architecture gianluca milesi architecture Project description Those are ‘experiments’ on space and shaping of surfaces through the use of Pasta; different kind of Pasta, spaghetti, cannellini, perciatelli, lasagne, are cooked assembled and shaped when they are still soft and malleable; the models dry assuming approximately the shapes defined previously. The process is intended as a study on space and shapes starting from a non-theoretical (and probably improvised) point of view; low technology, tradition and craft are involved (in a practical and symbolic way) in the ideation of spaces and geometry in place of computer generative tools or predefined theoretical approaches. Those studies are significant in terms of practical architectural suggestions and in terms of a reconsideration of theoretical approaches to the design process, even if developed in a provocative way.
