Sole e vento

ESTIDAMA, sustainability in Arabic, is the system Abu Dhabi decided to implement to contribute towards the quality of life. It is based on four pillars:  environment  economy  society  culture The program, launched in May 2008, is tailored to the Middle East region and it has been conceived by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council to support the realization of “Plan Abu Dhabi 2030”. “Sole e Vento” is born as a cooperation between five Italian design companies with the idea to develop a sustainable and cost effective project. Starting from a relatively low cost building structure that needs a minimal amount of energy to be “re-new-used” (the container), combining it with the latest technologies and innovative systems and materials, the aim is to obtain an excellent construction system price wise, based on a high technology skin. Our concept design proposal use shipping containers to build easy and readymade structural frame for buildings, as residential, offices, retail and commercial use.
