Italy is in the top tier of developed countries world wide, an innovator in the development of western civilization over the last 2800 years. While maintaining this cultural uniqueness it has evolved into an innovator in business and technology, with reasonable energy efficiency and moderate pollution. However to reach its full potential as a 0 zero carbon 0 waste society there must be more aggressive sophisticated innovation, that preserves the cultural legacy while providing the platform to enhance its environmental sustainability.
