Located nearby Oporto's seaside area, Living Foz is composed by 40 apartments distributed over 7 floors.
Unleashing 30 percent of the plot area for a collective use garden, a relief to the neighboring construction is obtained.
The balcony angle articulation creates spaces enriched by contrasts of light and shade, exposure and protection, emphasized by the contrast between the white cast-in-place concrete and the dark Glass Reinforced Concrete. The geometric and material principle of the facades continues trough the external areas, creating landscaped spaces for playing, strolling and relaxing.
The controlled sun exposure, the thermal inertia of the facade, the use of alternative energy and electrically efficient appliances, are features that integrate the building in a quality standard of respect for the Individual and their Habitat.

Si scorge l’Atlantico dagli appartamenti di “Living Foz”, l’edificio residenziale realizzato dallo studio DEMM Aquitectura nella zona costiera di Foz a Porto (Portogallo).
I sette piani dell’edificio ospitano 40 appartamenti. Il 30 per cento della superficie del lotto è occupato da un giardino comune.
Il fronte esterno dell’edificio è caratterizzato dall’alternanza che segna l’angolazione delle verande. Queste ultime sembrano svilupparsi come enormi fisarmoniche di calcestruzzo bianco, sovrapposte e sfalsate lungo tutta la facciata, a creare contrasti di luce e ombra, punti esposizione e rientranze. Ulteriore ritmo è dato dall’avvicendarsi del diafano cemento dei balconi all’opaco GRC (Glass Reinforced Concrete, ovvero calcestruzzo rinforzato con fibra di vetro) che protegge gli interni.
Il principio geometrico delle facciate è ripreso anche nelle aree esterne, creando spazi per giocare, passeggiare e rilassarsi.
L'esposizione solare controllata, l'inerzia termica della facciata, l'uso di energie alternative e l’inserimenti di impianti elettrici energeticamente efficienti fanno di Living Foz una struttura ecofriendly.
