For this project, located on the top floor of a Parisian building, it was necessary to bring together a dozen separate units — former maid’s rooms, storage spaces, closets, even parts of the common areas. New openings were created, a section of the roof rebuilt, and the floors entirely reworked to give rise to this expansive volume.

It was a long-term rehabilitation, where we experimented directly on site — cutting and sculpting the volumes and perspectives with precision. The built-in elements were custom-designed to blend seamlessly into this predominantly white and beige interior.

The kitchen — like the bathroom — introduces a horizon of color into this otherwise pristine atmosphere. Its design and fabrication were particularly demanding. The colored lacquer fronts, whose combinations pay tribute to the painter Ettore Spalletti, are framed in stainless steel (a design inspired from a framing technic called shadow box), and feature laser-cut handles.

Most of the furniture pieces were designed specifically for the space and made in collaboration with exceptional craftsmen. The result plays with a mix of styles and references — somewhere between a workshop and a country house.
