In 2022, Killa Design delivered an impressive Museum of the Future, built entirely without columns and wholly of curved structures, that used artificial intelligence to push the known limits of architecture. And now, with the Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, the studio has unveiled a stationary yet airy ves- sel, the final instalment of the “trilogy” of ho- tels inspired by the ocean. Flanked by the sail-shaped Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and the wave-like Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the establishment delivers a new expression of Dubai’s seafaring legacy on a peninsula that also serves as a pier. On board, the storeys are like so many decks, featuring all the amenities of the transoceanic cruise ships of legend. And once guests have embarked, they have no further need to drift about, as the building offers a condensed ver- sion of the Dubai experience – international, modern and fascinating.
