Ostuni / Italy

Surrounded by ancient olive groves above the “White City” of Ostuni, Villa Solea is a 180 m² modernist jewel by StudioToff. Three interlocking cubic volumes, finished in smooth lime wash, step down the hillside to create terraces at every level. Floor-to-ceiling glazing dissolves the boundary between inside and out, unveiling sweeping views of the Adriatic coast. Inside, a restrained palette of cool concrete floors, white walls, and ash-wood joinery serves as a neutral backdrop for Danish-designed Vipp furnishings and sculptural light fixtures.

The kitchen’s sculptural island anchors the open space, while a cantilevered dining table
overlooks the pool terrace. Three en-suite bedrooms are oriented east to catch the morning
sun, each punctuated by frameless glass doors opening onto private loggias. Subtle design
gestures—a recessed LED cove here, a hidden storage wall there—lend the villa a serene
minimalism. At dusk, the pool’s gentle illumination and the soft glow of the interiors transform Villa Solea into an ethereal refuge, perfectly balancing rigorous geometry with
the warmth of southern Italian hospitality.
