This interior design project is based on a clear concept: to design a clinic specialising in orthodontics that transmits transparency, fluidity and proximity, both to its patients and to the urban environment in which it is located. The clinic is conceived as a space open to the exterior, eliminating visual and physical barriers to generate confidence and well-being from the first contact.

Spatial fluidity through volumes and membranes

The interior design is articulated through a play of pure volumes and translucent membranes that define the different uses without completely isolating them. These divisions allow natural light to flow throughout the space, generating a light and continuous atmosphere, where it is possible to intuit the inner workings of the clinic without compromising the privacy of the users. This spatial strategy enhances the legibility of the functional programme and improves patient orientation.

Materiality: hygiene and warmth

The choice of materials responds to a balance between the perception of cleanliness and technology, fundamental in a healthcare space, and the need to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Aluminium, used in cladding and construction details, gives an image of high technology, precision and asepsis. Its metallic and cold finish reinforces the idea of rigorous cleanliness and professionalism.

In contrast, natural oak wood is used in furniture and partial cladding to provide warmth and sensorial comfort, creating an atmosphere that humanises medical treatment and reduces patient anxiety.

Artificial lighting is conceived as a key tool to reinforce the spatial and emotional quality of the project. In the passageways, indirect lighting is used to avoid glare, enhance the sensation of spatial continuity and encourage relaxed circulation. This type of soft lighting, integrated into architectural elements, contributes to a serene and welcoming atmosphere as well as highlighting the play of volumes in the space.

On the other hand, in the clinical cabinets, direct, precise and adjustable lighting has been chosen to ensure correct visibility for medical tasks without sacrificing the patient's visual comfort. This duality in the lighting treatment makes it possible to respond to the different functional requirements of the programme without losing coherence in the general atmosphere of the project.

The result is a clinic that not only meets the functional and technical requirements of a healthcare space but also proposes an innovative spatial experience, where the interior architecture becomes an active tool for improving the physical and emotional wellbeing of the user, articulating form, material and light in a coherent and sensitive language.
