Ladeirinha | EXPERIMENTAL

Ladeirinha is a semi-detached house located on a hillside in a peripheral area of Fátima, marked by constructions that are disconnected from their surroundings and repetitively built (copy-paste) without clear criteria. In response, the house isolates itself and seeks to integrate with nature, rather than conforming to its surroundings.

The house rises from the ground in the form of a sharp-edged prism, designed to accelerate the transition from a dull rural road to a panoramic living space. On the ground floor, a wall guides residents toward the heart of the house, gradually revealing a generous social space in full connection with the garden. The staircase then re-engages the inhabitants in the journey, leading them down to the lower level, where the private rooms of family life are hidden in the shadows. On the opposite side, the infinite landscape is unveiled.

The house — and all its components — aim to take advantage of industrial and modular production. These components are not intended for mass production, but are the outcome of a mass production process adapted to the specific and singular conditions of the project.

A Ladeirinha é uma moradia geminada situada numa encosta na periferia de Fátima. Esta área é caracterizada por habitações isoladas, repetitivas (copy-paste) e descontextualizadas. Em resposta a esse cenário, a casa isola-se e procura integrar-se com a natureza, em vez de se conformar com a envolvente.

O seu volume emerge do solo sobre a forma de um prisma afiado, concebido para acelerar a transição entre uma estrada rural sem brilho e um espaço habitacional panorâmico. No piso térreo, uma parede conduz os habitantes até ao centro da casa, revelando, de forma gradual, o espaço social amplo em plena relação com o jardim. A escada envolve novamente os habitantes no percurso, guiando-os até ao piso inferior, onde os compartimentos privados da vida familiar se ocultam na sombra. Do outro lado, revela-se a paisagem infinita.

A casa, e todas as peças que a compõem, procuram tirar partido da produção industrial e modular. Estas peças não pretendem ser produzidas em massa, mas são o resultado de um processo de produção em massa adaptado às circunstâncias singulares do projeto.
