Città Paradiso | MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects

In the heart of the Brera Design District, nestled in the courtyard of the historic architectural complex featuring buildings designed by Beltrami and Gregotti, " Paradise City " is the installation created by MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects for "Solferino 28".

“”Paradise City" offers a perspective that moves between the physical and the intangible dimensions of the creative process. A universe suspended between dream and reality. It is an immersive experience that transforms space into a metaphor for the mind and imagination, encouraging a reconsideration of the very concept of a city," explains Mario Cucinella, Architect & Founder of MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects. "Large floating bubbles embody thoughts, imaginary, and imagined cities."

In line with the Fuorisalone theme, Connected Worlds: Interactivity and Immersion in Design for a Connected World, the installation explores a new vision of the city: shaped by people's desires, defined by the livability of urban spaces, and fueled by creativity, where technology and imagination intertwine.

Artificial intelligence becomes the digital brain, redefining connections and relationships, tackling the complexities and challenges of our time to create a Paradise City: a shared space that connects everyone.

A fluid landscape emerges from the flooring, forming an imaginary universe dotted with large floating bubbles. These spheres, symbols of collective intelligence, welcome visitors on a journey through imagined cities and possible realities. Inside small biospheres, reinterpretations of the Gardens of Eden, thoughts and desires take shape, bridging dream and urbanity. At the center, there are four visionary city models: City Without Nature, where urbanization has overtaken greenery; Earth City, rooted in materials and traditions; Biosphere City, a self-sustaining ecosystem; Forest City, a perfect balance between humans and nature.

But the true magic happens through interaction—in the biosphere gardens, visitors become protagonists, expressing their own visions of the city. AI collects and reinterprets these desires, transforming them into images.

The experience unfolds through a series of immersive micro-installations, created with the contribution of project partners, showcasing design innovations across different scales: a bridge between the imagined city and the real one, between vision and innovation.

In linea con il tema del Fuorisalone, Mondi Connessi: Interactivity and Immersion in Design for a Connected World, l’installazione esplora una nuova idea di città: plasmata dai desideri delle persone, modellata dalla vivibilità degli spazi urbani e alimentata dalla creatività. Dove tecnologia e immaginazione si intrecciano. L’intelligenza artificiale diventa il cervello digitale che ridefinisce connessioni e relazioni, affrontando complessità e sfide del nostro tempo per creare una Città Paradiso: condivisa e capace di connettere tutti.

Un paesaggio fluido nasce dalla pavimentazione, dando forma a un universo immaginario costellato di grandi bolle fluttuanti. Sfere, simbolo di un'intelligenza collettiva, accolgono i visitatori in un viaggio tra città immaginate e realtà possibili. All'interno di piccole biosfere, reinterpretazioni dei giardini dell’Eden, pensieri e desideri si materializzano, connettendo sogno e urbanità. Al centro quattro modelli di città visionarie: Città senza natura, in cui l’urbanizzazione ha sovrastato il verde; Città di terra, radicata in materiali e tradizioni; Città biosfera, un ecosistema autosufficiente; Città foresta, un equilibrio perfetto tra uomo e natura.

Ma la vera magia nasce dall’interazione, nei giardini delle biosfere: i visitatori diventano protagonisti dando voce alla propria idea di città. L’IA raccoglie e rielabora i desideri, trasformandoli in immagini.

L’esperienza, un percorso di micro-installazioni immersive realizzate con il contributo dei partner di progetto, racconta le innovazioni del design alle diverse scale: un ponte tra città immaginata e quella reale, tra visione e innovazione.
